Shift/Time Zone: Mon-Fri 5:30-2:30 or 6:30-3:30 depending on coverage needed. Every other Saturday.
Responsibilities
- The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) represents the face of the company to patients who come in, both as part of their health routine or for insights into life-defining health decisions.
- Draw quality blood samples from patients and prepare those specimens for lab testing following established practices and procedures.
- Interact directly with patients, explaining procedures and drawing blood in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner to create an atmosphere of trust and confidence.
- Demonstrate Leadership Behaviors while focusing on process excellence and confidentiality/accuracy of patient information.
- Be assigned to a doctor’s office, a patient service center, or other locations based on business needs.
- Under the direction of the area supervisor, perform daily activities accurately and on time.
- Maintain a safe and professional environment.
- Perform verification of patient demographic information and initials, including patient signature post-venipuncture to verify tubes were labeled in the patient’s presence and that the name on the label is correct.
- Maintain required records and documentation.
- Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills including pediatric and geriatric populations.
- Flexible and available based on staffing needs, which includes weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.

- Must be able to make decisions based on established procedures and exercise good judgment.
- Must have reliable transportation, valid driver license, and clean driving record, if applicable.
- Travel and flexible hours required to work multiple locations; coverage at Patient Service Center/In-Office Phlebotomy locations with minimal notice.
- Capable of handling multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
- Superior Customer Focus; ability to communicate openly and transparently with peers, supervisors and patients; ability to embrace change; and knowledge of our business.
- Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.
- Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent REQUIRED.
- Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred. Required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
- Work Experience: THREE years phlebotomy experience REQUIRED, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric and capillary collections.
- Minimum 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
- Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred.
- Keyboard/data entry experience.
- Floaters travel between multiple sites; must be on time, have a clean driving record, and can submit mileage for expense reimbursement.
- Additional details: Floaters are required to list home city/commute time on resume; overlapping roles do not count twice. Rate references Southeast rate card breakdown if applicable.
- Candidate must have reliable transportation to get to/from worksite (bus, Uber, rideshare is not considered reliable). Must be available to work whenever scheduled, be on time, and stay for the entire shift. Excessive absenteeism/tardiness is not tolerated and may lead to termination.
