Position Description

Chaffey College is seeking applicants to provide instruction in the non-credit Phlebotomy Technician program. All applicants are expected to meet the California State Community College and California Department of Public Health minimum qualifications for instructors of this training. Meeting the minimum qualifications does not guarantee employment or an interview. Evaluation of applicants will start immediately, and the position is open until filled.

This role involves developing and delivering didactic and clinical instruction, supervising students in an instructional capacity in the clinical setting, ensuring all State instructional and record-keeping requirements are met, developing and monitoring clinical schedules, collaborating with and coordinating the work of supplemental instructional presenters, participating in student orientations, and arranging for State certification examinations. The candidate may also meet desirable qualifications that enable program director responsibilities related to program operation and administration, instruction quality, presenter qualifications, clinical site assignments, and continuing program renewal including renewal materials submission.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver didactic and clinical instruction for the Phlebotomy Technician program.
  • Supervise students in instructional settings, including clinical environments.
  • Ensure compliance with State instructional and record-keeping requirements.
  • Develop and monitor clinical schedules.
  • Collaborate with and coordinate with supplemental instructional presenters.
  • Participate in student orientations and arrange for State certification examinations.
  • Possibly serve as program director with responsibilities related to program operation and renewal.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience; OR
  • Associate degree and six years of professional experience; OR
  • The equivalent; AND
  • Demonstrated evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds in a community college environment.
