Overview

SCCI is seeking a System Tester to join our team in support of our Battle Management System program. The System Tester will conduct developmental and system-level testing to ensure products are well characterized before delivery to the warfighter. Testing will be performed both in the lab and in the field, with a focus on process and product improvement to deliver high-quality products swiftly. The role requires travel to remote locations for installation, integration, and testing, working closely with stakeholders, customers, flight personnel, and end users. The position is based in Dahlgren, VA.

This role requires CONUS travel up to 3 times semi-annually.

Responsibilities

  • Apply manual and automated test engineering processes in a lab environment, collaborating with internal and external customers and end-users.
  • Develop test strategies and detailed procedures to evaluate system functionality, safety, and precision.
  • Create testable requirements and plans based on system requirements, including test execution.
  • Design, implement, and execute manual and automated test strategies and procedures.
  • Use test tools for requirements verification, environment validation, and system performance testing.
  • Support fielding and off-site testing activities.
  • Develop and communicate test plans, progress, and results verbally and in writing.
  • Participate in system installation and assessment locally and remotely.
  • Troubleshoot system issues collaboratively with developers; document results and actions.
  • Collaborate with BMS technical teams through scheduled meetings.

Required Skills and Experience

  • U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret Security Clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, scientific, or technical discipline, or equivalent experience/military background.
  • At least three years of experience designing, implementing, and executing manual and automated tests.
  • Two years of experience testing software-intensive systems.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering and testing practices across the software development lifecycle.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication skills, and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Experience developing testing strategies and detailed procedures based on system requirements.
  • Ability to perform verification, validation, performance, and acceptance testing in rapid development environments.
  • Ability to work independently and professionally interface with government agencies, contractors, and military personnel.
  • Support for remote testing events.
  • Ability to walk approximately 200 meters while carrying heavy equipment.
  • Pass FAA Class 3 medical exam and Hypobaric Chamber training.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience with Linux and UNIX environments.
  • Knowledge of Test and Evaluation best practices and rapid development processes.
  • Knowledge of Weapon Systems and Command & Control Systems.
  • Understanding of rapid acquisition processes.
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, changing environment.
