Overview

ASRC Federal is seeking an Automation Tester to join the Remote Monitoring and Logging System (RMLS) team that supports the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This is a full-time on-site position at the William J. Hughes Technical Center in Egg Harbor Township, NJ.

RMLS is the FAA’s logging system for recording maintenance work performed on facilities in the National Airspace System (NAS). RMLS provides a rich database of unstructured text; reading every log file.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 2nd Level Engineering support for RMLS.
  • Collaborate with agile teams to develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts for web and mobile applications in alignment with FAA requirements.
  • Perform functional, integration, regression, and system testing to ensure software reliability, security, and performance in real-time environments.
  • Ensure automated tests are integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Schedule daily automation test runs and reports during development and testing on multiple platforms and browsers using Jenkins.
  • Identify, document, and track defects and issues found during testing.
  • Provide detailed reports on test results and recommendations for improvements.
  • Assist with manual testing as needed.
  • Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and sprint retrospectives within an Agile team environment.
  • Provide feedback on the testing process, suggesting areas of improvement in automation practices.
  • Assist with RMLS troubleshooting and Help Desk Support.

Qualifications

  • Required Skills
    • Proficient in: C#, Java, Python, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Database development in Oracle/SQL.
    • Test Automation using tools such as Selenium, MSTest, NUnit, ExtentReports, Jenkins, Appium, and/or Playwright.
    • Writing test documentation, such as test cases/procedures and reports.
  • Experience in: Mobile testing with a strong focus on iOS/Android applications; Appium and XCUITest for mobile automation; Mobile app release cycles, provisioning profiles, and deployment pipeline.
  • Strong attention to details.
  • Ability to design, implement, and maintain robust and scalable test automation frameworks; work independently and in a team; troubleshoot and isolate defects within a complex software system; communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Preferred Skills
    • Prior FAA Test experience.
    • Experience in API Testing using Postman; Performance Testing using JMeter; Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) framework for automation testing on .NET applications (e.g., Specflow); DevOps and CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing and validation; Agile teams (Scrum/Kanban) with JIRA or similar tools.
    • Familiar with Xcode, iOS Simulators, and iOS debugging tools.

Education and Eligibility

  • All Non-US Degrees must have a US Equivalency Certificate provided by the candidate.
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Math, or a Bachelor’s degree in another technical field with a minimum of 30 semester hours in math/statistics/computer science and 12 years related work experience in a computer science or math field; OR
  • Master’s Degree in any field with a minimum of 30 semester hours of math/statistics/computer science and 9 years related work experience; OR
  • PhD or Doctoral in a related field with a minimum of 30 semester hours of math/statistics/computer science.

Job Details

  • Citizenship/Permanent Residency Requirement: All candidates must pass the Federal Background Investigation and obtain the FAA Public Trust security clearance. Must be a US Citizen, have a US Green Card, or a Non-immigrant Work Authorization (VISA). Residency in the US for three consecutive years is required. The company is unable to sponsor candidates at this time.
  • Relocation: Candidate must reside or be willing to relocate within a commutable distance to Egg Harbor Township, NJ.
  • Work Environment: Full-time position with a standard flexible work schedule and occasional non-standard work hours; occasional travel (<5%); cubicle environment.
