Sr. QA Tester Job at Piper Companies in Sparks Glencoe

Piper Companies is seeking a Senior QA Tester to join a leading insurance technology team based in Sparks, MD. This is a full-time opportunity with a hybrid work schedule ( 3 days onsite, 2 days remote ). The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in automated and manual testing , a passion for quality , and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced Agile environment.

Responsibilities of the Sr. QA Tester Include:

• Participate in test planning, development, automation, execution, and defect resolution.
• Create and maintain test plans and scripts for new software features.
• Execute manual and automated tests using tools such as Selenium.
• Revise testing scope and approach based on results and design changes.
• Identify, verify, and track software defects through resolution.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Ensure software meets both explicit and implicit requirements.
• Support performance testing and integration testing across applications.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and tools.

Qualifications of the Sr. QA Tester Include:

Required:

• College degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 8-10 years of experience testing web and desktop applications.
• Strong experience with automated testing tools, especially Selenium .
• Solid understanding of QA principles and testing methodologies (functional, integration, system, regression).
• Familiarity with Agile development environments.
• Experience diagnosing, reporting, and resolving software quality issues.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred:

• Functional knowledge of SQL (e.g., understanding table relationships, executing queries).
• Experience working in regulated or technical environments.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Passion for quality assurance and delivering high-quality software products.
• Ability to adapt to changing project scopes and collaborate across teams.

Compensation for the Sr. QA Tester Includes:

• Salary Range: $90,000 - $100,000+ annually (based on experience)
