Insight Global is hiring: Construction Materials Tester in Tukwila

Base pay range

$30.00/hr - $50.00/hr

• Hourly Rate: $30–$50/hour (based on experience, qualifications, and skill set)

Responsibilities

• Maintain and develop laboratory testing programs; enter test data into reports
• Perform and oversee QA testing on-site and in the lab for WSDOT projects
• Calibrate lab equipment and track maintenance schedules
• Understand and apply ASTM, AASHTO, USACE standards; manage an AASHTO-accredited lab
• Conduct physical testing of soils, concrete, and asphalt per ASTM procedures
• Operate lab equipment and perform geotechnical/construction materials testing (e.g., Atterberg Limits, Sieve Analysis, UCS, CBR, Swell, Proctors)
• Interpret drawings, specifications, and diagrams
• Communicate test procedures and results effectively with team members and clients
• Maintain technical competence and understanding of all relevant equipment and methodologies

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 8+ years of experience in highway and construction materials testing
• WAQTC certifications in Aggregate, Asphalt Level 2, In-place and Embankment Densities
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Basic computer proficiency
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently; occasionally more with assistance
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Physical ability to kneel, squat, climb, walk, and stand for extended periods

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree (technical or four-year)
• Additional ACI certifications (Concrete Strength, Aggregate Base, Aggregate Testing)
• Nuclear Density Gauge Operator Certificate
• WABO Lab Supervisor Certificate
