Overview
Package Handler/Parker at Spee Dee Delivery Service, Inc. is a role focused on unloading, washing, and parking vehicles and assisting with the sortation of freight.
Hours and Wages
- Monday-Friday, 3:00PM-12AM
- Paid OT at time and a half after 40 hours per week
- $18.50-$21.50 per hour, based on experience, plus shift differential
Duties And Responsibilities
- Drive empty fleet vehicles to the appropriate location to be washed and parked
- Oversee truck washing employees to ensure all vehicles are washed thoroughly
- Park fleet vehicles in the appropriate route docks
- Carry a radio and report vehicle swaps to leadership
- Communicate with the Fleet Maintenance departments regarding vehicle changes
- Support warehouse staff with sorting freight
- Sort, load, and unload freight in a safe and accurate manner
- Perform other required duties as assigned
Skills And Abilities
- Ability to operate a manual transmission, or have the willingness to learn
- Ability to read labels at a fast pace and work independently
Education And Experience
- At least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Hold a valid Driver's License with a good driving record which meets company standards
Physical Requirements
- Ability to bend, lift, twist, carry, and slide freight weighing up to 100 pounds
- Ability to work with all types of freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
