OnTrac is hiring a Warehouse Package Handler Lead.

This position plays a crucial role in overseeing the offloading, loading, and sorting of packages for distribution. Our Package Handler Leads work closely with Area and Operations Managers to train new hires, support business metrics, and uphold company values.

Location details: 565 S Pinnacle, Romeoville, IL 60446

Pay: $22.05 per hour

Shift: Sunday - Wednesday from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Hours are subject to change based on the needs of the business.

Responsibilities

• Oversee offloading, loading, and sorting of packages for distribution.
• Train and guide Package Handlers, providing hands-on demonstrations and ongoing performance feedback.
• Monitor equipment functionality, submit maintenance requests, and manage damaged freight according to company procedures.
• Check in/out third-party drivers, verify credentials, and ensure proper documentation and manifest accuracy.
• Promote a safe work environment by enforcing company safety protocols, including dock, conveyor, and lockout/tagout procedures.

Must-Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• 1 year of industry experience
• 1 year of leadership experience preferred
• Regularly lift, push, pull 25 - 35 lbs; occasionally carry up to 50 lbs and push/pull up to 150 lbs using a pallet jack or Gaylords
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Qualifications & Expectations

• Train and guide Package Handlers with hands-on demonstrations
• Oversee package handling, sorting, and inspection to ensure accuracy and prevent damage
• Ensure accuracy of manifests and credential checks for third-party drivers
