Overview

Air Conditioning Mechanic II – Facilities Management Services, Building Maintenance - Zone 01. Location: Atlanta Campus. Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:45 p.m. Location subject to change; shift subject to change.

We are seeking one Air Conditioning Mechanic II to join the Maintenance and Operations Department and support the Building Maintenance Department in delivering excellence. We hire a diverse team and provide growth opportunities.

What you will do

• Perform skilled manual work involving the repair and installation of refrigeration, air conditioning, and heating equipment.
• Overhaul and service refrigeration, air conditioning, and heating units by repairing or replacing worn parts.
• Inspect equipment for needed repairs and perform routine maintenance.
• Test refrigeration units for leaks and add gas as needed.
• Monitor valves and gauges to ensure proper operation; adjust valves, pipes, etc., as needed.
• Change and clean oil and air filters.
• Operate Centrifugal and Reciprocating chillers.
• Assist in installing air conditioning and heating units and related equipment.
• May assist in training lower-level employees.
• Clean work areas and equipment.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum Requirements: Technical or vocational degree and two years of HVAC experience, or a high school diploma or GED with four years of HVAC experience, or a combination of education and related experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of procedures, tools, and equipment used in the HVAC trade; practical oral and written communication skills; ability to access confined spaces; ability to work in open areas, such as rooftops; climb ladders and scaffolds; operate tools and equipment used in the HVAC trade; read and interpret blueprints; ability to multi-task, pay attention to detail, train and supervise staff, lift approximately 50 pounds, exhibit excellent customer service, and interpret building drawings.
