Tender Care Learning Academy in Wilmington and New Castle DE is looking for an experienced, energetic Lead Teacher to work with students in our program. This individual must be organized, creative, and dedicated to their profession. They should be passionate about caring for and inspiring ALL children to be lifelong learners!
Required Education:
- Completion of TECE I & II, and/or CDA. Must have Certification from Delaware First as a Teacher or higher.
- Associate or Bachelor's Degree
- Early Childhood Education Experience in a classroom or daycare setting of 2 or more years.
- High School or equivalent
- (Preferably) Associates degree or higher in Early Childhood Education/Child Development.
- Courses in Curriculum Planning, and Classroom Management
Responsibilities:
- Provide basic needs for children.
- Provide a pleasant, safe, and sanitary environment.
- Develop age-appropriate socialization skills in children.
- Establish and enforce rules that promote positive behavior and good manners.
- Identify behavioral problems and develop appropriate strategies to address them.
- Exhibit strong classroom management skills.
- Provide various tools and resources for children to use and explore that will stimulate growth and development.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to enhance and complement the children's learning styles.
- Attend staff meetings, conferences, and workshops.
- Conduct parent-teacher conferences.
- Effectively address all concerns with parents.
- Develop age-appropriate planning guides and activities.
- Provide daily communication and updates to parents on children’s progress.
- Complete evaluations of students through assessment and observation tools.
