Overview

Howard University is seeking seasonal application readers for the undergraduate admissions cycle. Seasonal readers will be trained by the admissions staff to conduct admission application review. Seasonal readers must be able to review admissions applications efficiently, timely, and accurately. All applications are read online. Seasonal readers will need to track hours and communicate frequently with the admission office. Candidates must have access to a reliable, high-speed internet connection, and must have access to a private, secure location in which to work.

Responsibilities

  • Read applications online with speed, accuracy, and thorough notes.
  • Commit to training in October/November and work 10–20 hours per week through May.
  • Track hours and communicate regularly with the admissions office.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor\'s Degree is required.
  • Ability to read quickly, carefully, and objectively while providing thorough and detailed notes.
  • Well-developed computer skills and the ability to adapt to new technology.
  • Ability to spend long periods of time reading from a computer screen.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Ability to exercise keen judgement and discretion.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain the strictest levels of discretion and confidentiality.
  • Ability to meet admission decision deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in college admissions is preferred but not required.

Compensation

Expected Pay Range: $15,454-$17,000
