Seasonal Laborer Job at Village of Harrison (WI) in Town of Harrison

Overview

This seasonal position performs a variety of work associated with the maintenance of Village facilities including roads, parks, storm water facilities, buildings, trees and landscaped areas. This work requires operation of different vehicles, machines, and equipment.

Responsibilities

• General lawn and shrub care at village facilities, storm water facilities, parks and trails, includes grass mowing and trimming, brush chipping, landscape beds maintenance, tree pruning and removal
• Custodial tasks in village buildings and park facilities
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships and communication with fellow employees and the general public
• Must be available via cell phone.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to following oral and written instructions
• Working knowledge of the methods, materials, tools and equipment commonly used in public works activities
• Knowledge of the rules of safe operation of equipment and vehicles and the precautions to be taken to prevent accidents
• Knowledge of proper landscape, tree care and pruning

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Any landscaping experience a plus
• Must have a valid Wisconsin driver’s license
• Must be a minimum of 18 years old
• Must be able to operate the following equipment: riding mower, weed eater, blower.
• Physical ability and fitness to be able to perform the duties of the position
