Role

Warehouse Team Leader directs the daily activities of Warehouse Associates involved in Receiving, Picking, Packing, and Releasing of products and Inventory control. They monitor performance, assign tasks based on specialization for maximum output, and ensure a healthy, safe work environment that meets customers%u2019 expectations. They also ensure efficient operations and smooth execution of tasks on the warehouse floor.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for accurately performing warehouse activity as directed by management with quality and productivity targets.
  • Assist warehouse leads with developing, implementing, and supporting policies and procedures; ensure all established policies and practices are followed by the warehouse team.
  • Lead all receiving, picking, packing, and releasing activities performed by the warehouse team; trained in every department.
  • Maintain high visibility and access to employees on the warehouse floor; review, prioritize, and organize all orders within scope.
  • Forecast daily/weekly/monthly crewing needs to meet peak business demands and coordinate with lead to staff the team accordingly.
  • Lead by example; train, motivate, coach, reward, and discipline team members as needed.
  • Lead transactions in the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to ensure correct inventory management.
  • Resolve warehouse-related issues with representatives from other departments.
  • Coordinate with warehouse leads to manage personnel issues and requests; maintain attendance and efficiency records; perform administrative tasks as necessary.
  • Maintain working knowledge of all warehouse operations; train new Associates.
  • Support safety programs and all required safety training for the crew; perform other related duties as assigned by Management.
  • Lead up to 15 warehouse employees; provide detailed feedback and coach Associates to improve performance.
  • Lead crew by example, including loading trucks and performing other duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • Reliable, consistent on-site attendance is required.
  • Flexibility to work temporarily, with different shifts or extended hours based on operational needs.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions accurately.
  • Ability to cross-train and learn other departments%u2019 processes; strong inventory control skills.
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Office tools, and basic mathematical abilities.
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations best practices.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Minimum of one to two years%u2019 experience in a warehouse or equivalent.
  • Ability to operate forklift, pallet jack, RF scanners; ability to read and understand simple instructions, and to write simple correspondence; ability to present information in one-on-one and small group settings.
  • Must be able to drive and operate a forklift, hand truck, and pallet jack.
