Overview

Hughes Supply is a Trade Name of Hajoca Corporation, one of the country’s largest privately-held wholesale distributors of plumbing, heating & cooling, and industrial supplies. Hajoca operates with a decentralized model where each Profit Center (PC) is run as its own small business by a Profit Center Manager. Hughes Supply at Buckeye, AZ is seeking a Warehouse Teammate.

Pay for Warehouse Teammate at this location is between $18 and $22 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Count, verify, and receive incoming vendor shipments and customer return material.
• Stock and maintain the warehouse; pick, document, and pack customer orders in accordance with company policy and procedure.
• Maintain high attention to detail to ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
• Handle shipping discrepancies per procedures or forward paperwork to the designated employee.
• Identify nonstock, special-order, and damaged material and store in proper warehouse locations.
• Complete necessary documentation for customer shipments delivered via third-party carrier.
• Load and unload trucks; operate warehouse forklift and other material handling equipment safely.
• Inform immediate supervisor of stock depletions, count discrepancies, or damaged/defective/nonsaleable merchandise that could impact service levels.
• Ensure security and controls to protect Profit Center assets; maintain warehouse cleanliness, order, and safety.
• Assist co-workers in servicing customers and perform all duties in accordance with Safety Standards; complete required safety and compliance training.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.

About You / Qualifications

• 1 year of warehouse receiving and material handling experience.
• Knowledge of products sold at the Profit Center preferred.
• Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy; ability to learn product knowledge and systems used for warehouse operations.
• Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
• Commitment to safety in a warehouse and material handling environment; able to learn to safely operate a forklift and other equipment.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
