Position Overview: The Warehouse Coordinator will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient operations within the warehouse. The position involves coordinating deliveries, managing inventory, and maintaining organization within the warehouse to ensure smooth workflow and timely project completion. This individual will work closely with the logistics, purchasing, and installation teams to ensure materials are delivered on time and in the correct quantities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivery Coordination:
- Schedule and manage deliveries to ensure timely arrival of materials to the job sites.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, drivers, and internal teams to confirm delivery schedules and requirements.
- Track delivery progress, ensuring no delays occur, and immediately address any issues or discrepancies.
- Inventory Management:
- Oversee the inventory of decking materials, ensuring adequate stock levels to meet project demands.
- Conduct regular stock audits to identify discrepancies and ensure inventory accuracy.
- Order new materials as needed, keeping within budget constraints and optimizing stock levels to avoid shortages or excess.
- Organize materials by type, size, and project to streamline order fulfillment and minimize errors.
- Warehouse Organization:
- Maintain an organized and safe warehouse environment, ensuring materials are properly stored and easily accessible.
- Manage the layout of storage areas to maximize space and efficiency.
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed, including proper handling of materials.
- Work closely with the installation team to ensure the timely delivery of materials needed for ongoing projects.
- Communicate inventory needs and material shortages to the purchasing team to avoid delays in project timelines.
- Provide regular reports to management regarding inventory levels, order statuses, and delivery progress.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in warehouse coordination or inventory management, preferably in construction or decking materials.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and resolve issues quickly.
- Forklift certification and experience handling large and heavy materials is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move heavy materials (up to 50 lbs).
- Comfort working in a warehouse environment and outdoors in various weather conditions.
