Description:
The Senior Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the efficient operation of the warehouse, leading a team of shipping/receiving, materials handling, and warehouse clerks. Responsibilities include leadership and supervision of staff, preservation of finished goods and raw materials, health & safety, cost management, risk management, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Provide effective leadership, supervision, motivation, and development of warehouse employees for safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations.
- Take over the Manager’s tasks when the Manager is unavailable.
- Support the Warehouse Manager in activities including WMS system, SOP/WI, KPI, ISO, and safety compliance.
- Lead a team responsible for shipping, receiving, warehousing, and material transfer of raw materials and finished goods.
- Be familiar with all warehouse positions to step in when needed; troubleshoot ERP or system issues; analyze and improve processes and work environment.
- Interact professionally with all departments, customers, and vendors.
- Maintain inventory accuracy, conduct inventory counts, prepare reports, and perform root cause analysis with preventative actions.
- Coordinate with other shifts for smooth operations.
- Work with EHS and other departments to develop and maintain safety programs and promote safety awareness.
- Ensure all activities comply with Canadian Solar’s Code of Business Conduct and environmental, health, safety policies.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum 3+ years in warehouse management, preferably in high-volume environments.
- Experience with local, national, and international logistics.
- Post-secondary education in a related field.
- Proficient in MS Office, experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Strong knowledge of WMS and inventory management.
- Self-motivated, able to work under pressure.
- Effective communication skills at all organizational levels.
- Organized, energetic, team-oriented.
- Flexibility in working hours is mandatory.
- Forklift certification is an asset.
