Job Summary

New Tech is seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to join our team. The ideal candidate will prioritize safety, work effectively with others, and demonstrate strong technical operating skills. Operators must be willing to assist with tasks outside of equipment operation when needed and share knowledge to help develop team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy equipment (Dozer, Excavator, Motor Grader, etc.) safely and efficiently.

  • Perform pre- and post-operation inspections, including greasing, fueling, and reporting any equipment issues.

  • Follow all safety protocols and participate in safety/toolbox meetings.

  • Understand and execute daily directions; ask for clarification if needed.

  • Spread materials (dirt, sand, rock) to final elevation and finish on flat and sloped surfaces.

  • Load haul trucks and orchestrate site operations for optimal production.

  • Excavate to grade for piping, ditching, and slope work.

  • Set stormwater pipes and structures (RCP, CMP, CHDPE, etc.).

  • Use additional attachments such as grapplers or rock breakers.
Experience Levels

Operators will be classified by skill and experience level:

Level A - Finish Operator (GPS or Non-GPS)

  • 5+ years' experience in civil dirt/site work.

  • Expert in survey math and grade control.

  • High operating sensitivity; capable of smooth, precise final grading.

  • Proficient with all attachments and capable of high-production loading and excavation.
Level B - Non-Finish Operator (GPS or Non-GPS)
  • Solid knowledge of civil dirt/site work and basic survey math.

  • Medium-to-high operating sensitivity.

  • Can spread materials to rough elevation and assist with production tasks.
Level C - Entry/Training Operator (GPS or Non-GPS)
  • Limited experience; continuing to build skills.

  • Basic knowledge of survey math and equipment operation.

  • Able to perform basic site tasks under supervision.

Travel: Paid travel time (when applicable).
Per Diem: $100-$140/day, depending on project.
Hours: Expect 60-70 hours per week with overtim
