Heavy Equipment Operator – $28–$35/hr + $830 Weekly Per Diem (3200 a month on top of hourly)
Location: Must be open to Indiana or New Mexico
Job Type: Contract-to-Hire
Schedule: Monday–Saturday, 6 AM–6 PM (with potential for 10–12+ hour Saturdays depending on workload and weather)
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to operate a Motor Grader equipped with a Total Station GPS System . This role involves precise shaping and leveling of terrain to final grade, including scarifying, mixing materials, and dressing slopes and embankments. The operator must be capable of working on both rocky and standard earth terrain and interpreting blueprints accurately.

Hourly Rate: $26–$32/hr (based on experience)

Per Diem: $830/week (adds up to approx. $3,200/month)

Mileage Reimbursement: $0.54/mile for travel

Overtime Potential: 20–35 hours/week
Key Responsibilities
-
Operate Motor Grader (preferably CAT 140M–160M) using Total Station GPS System.

Perform final grade shaping and leveling.

Scarify, break up, and loosen dirt.

Mix materials and dress slopes, shoulders, and embankments.

Read and interpret blueprints accurately.

Work effectively on rocky and standard terrain.
Required Qualifications

3+ years of experience operating Motor Graders on mass grading sites (200k–20 million yards of dirt).

Proficiency in GPS Motor Grader systems and blueprint reading.

Experience with Total Station GPS technology.
Preferred Qualifications

Valid driver’s license (preferred but not mandatory).

Eligible to be insured for company vehicle operation.
Work Environment

Civil construction site located in open farmland in Lebanon, IN .

Subject to Indiana’s seasonal weather: hot, humid summers with thunderstorms and cold winters with snow, rain, and wind.

High activity level demands strong communication and situational awareness.
