Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator

Location: Petersburg, TN

Job Type: Full-Time

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating various heavy machinery, including track loaders, excavators, dozers, and dump trucks. The scope of work includes land clearing, forestry mulching, grading, excavation, and driving dump trucks for material transport. A CDL Class A is not required. The operator will play a key role in executing projects safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate heavy machinery, including track loaders, excavators, dozers, and dump trucks.
• Perform land clearing, grading, excavation, and forestry mulching as required by the project.
• Transport materials using a dump truck, ensuring safe loading, hauling, and unloading.
• Maintain equipment by performing regular inspections and minor maintenance as needed.
• Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment for yourself and the team.
• Work closely with the project manager and crew to ensure timely and efficient project completion.
• Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other contractors to ensure smooth operation and coordination of tasks.
• Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations regarding equipment operation and environmental guidelines.

Requirements

• Proven experience operating heavy equipment, such as track loaders, excavators, dozers, and dump trucks.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• CDL Class A is not required.
• Strong knowledge of safety standards and operational procedures.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions and physical environments.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Ability to perform basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in land clearing, forestry mulching, and excavation.
• Experience driving a dump truck and hauling material.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints or site plans.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to operate equipment for extended periods.
• Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.).
