General Summary

The Heavy Equipment Operator may also serve as an Electrical Helper, working alongside skilled electricians to assist with trenching, excavating, and underground electrical system installation. Tasks include operating heavy machinery, assisting with electrical work, and interpreting drawings.

Preferred Skills

• Professional appearance and conduct
• OSHA 10 Hour, CPR, and First Aid trained
• High productivity and effective communication

Mandatory Requirements

• References, Background Check, Drug Screen, Valid Driver’s License

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy machinery (Backhoe, Excavator, Mini Excavator, Skid Steer, Trencher, Compactors)
• Dig trenches, maintain equipment, organize materials, assist with electrical installations
• Read and interpret site and electrical drawings

Position Requirements

• Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License Class A
• High School diploma or GED
• At least 2 years of verifiable heavy equipment operating experience

Working Conditions

• Work in all weather conditions, at heights, in confined spaces
• Must wear PPE, carry personal tools, and work overtime, including nights and weekends

Physical/Mental Functions

• Identify wire colors, interpret drawings, operate tools and equipment safely
• Lift objects up to 75 lbs, work at heights, and perform physical tasks required by the job
