Overview

Take the Driver's Seat in Heavy Construction - Become a Heavy Equipment Operator with Twehous Excavating. Position Title: Heavy Equipment Operator. Company: Twehous Excavating Company Inc. Location: Kansas City, MO. Pay range: $21-$35+ per hour plus 20% Job Special Pay on qualifying projects. Industry: Civil Construction / Utilities / Sitework. We are a family-owned civil construction firm based in Jefferson City, MO, with year-round work and a focus on safety, quality, and employee growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently on active job sites.
• Perform basic equipment maintenance and keep machines clean and operational.
• Follow all company and job-specific safety protocols.
• Complete daily tasks using tools such as jackhammers, demolition saws, shovels, and survey gear.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow directions from supervisors and collaborate with team members.
• Support other duties as assigned by the site superintendent or management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years of experience preferred; entry-level candidates with vocational training will be considered.
• Trade school certificate in Heavy Equipment Operating preferred.
• General knowledge of construction tools, equipment, and methods.
• Ability to read construction drawings and perform basic math.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Valid Class A CDL preferred.
• Reliable transportation required.

Schedule

Full-Time: Monday - Friday. Overtime as needed, including evenings and weekends.

Location

Based in Kansas City, MO with travel throughout Missouri and the Midwest as required.
