Overview
Assistant Recruiting Manager at IsoTalent – Heavy Equipment Operator role for our client, a leading civil construction company. Location/Onsite: Multiple job sites across North Carolina – onsite position.
Our client is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join their growing team across various job sites.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy construction equipment in accordance with safety regulations and company standards
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure proper functionality of machinery
- Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on equipment as needed
- Keep equipment clean and in optimal working condition
- Report larger repair needs to the appropriate personnel
- Follow all local, state, and federal safety guidelines
- Actively contribute to a safe and efficient worksite environment
Requirements and Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience operating heavy equipment
- Experience working with a pipe crew is a plus
- Solid knowledge of equipment safety and proper operation standards
- Ability to inspect, clean, and conduct minor repairs on machinery
- Strong situational awareness and attention to detail
- Physically able to lift 50–90 pounds frequently and work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Comfortable walking on uneven terrain and climbing on/off equipment safely
- Willingness to perform manual labor as needed
- Experience with grading and reading grade stakes and site plans
- Ability to work flexible hours, starting as early as 6:30 am
- Self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team
