Responsibilities

• Must be able to operate at a high production speed on the following machines: Bulldozer, Excavator, Motor Grader, Skid Steer, Mini-Ex, Haul Truck, Front End Loader, and Rollers. Any finishing experience is a plus.
• Create level surfaces, grade slopes to specifications, remove material and thoroughly fill voids using plans or our survey team for guidance.
• Maintain equipment in proper operating condition by performing simple preventive maintenance tasks and/or making minor repairs as required.
• Inspect equipment prior to use to ensure that it is in proper operating condition.
• Work with the Superintendent or Foreman to help ensure that work is flowing smoothly throughout the day.
• Help the Superintendents and Foreman identify areas needing improvement in production processes.
• Perform general labor as needed.
• Attend training and safety meetings.
• Store and clean machinery at its designated location and note any deficiencies.
• Familiar with staking and checking grade.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to process information quickly and accurately.
• Takes direction well and strives to increase knowledge and ability on given machines.
• Must know the consistency of material and understand compaction techniques.

Qualifications

• Strong ability to operate multiple heavy equipment at high production speeds.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to process information quickly and accurately.
• Familiar with staking and checking grade; understands material consistency and compaction techniques.
• Must be able to follow plans or guidance from survey team.
• Must be able to attend training and safety meetings.
• Will perform general labor as needed and coordinate with site supervision to maintain workflow.
