Job Summary
QLM is hiring experienced Heavy Equipment Operators for civil construction projects across the Carolinas. Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in mass earthwork, highway, commercial, or industrial site development. We are specifically seeking operators skilled in excavators, GPS-enabled dozers, loading trucks, and main line pipe installation.

Pay Range
$26-$28 per hour
Key Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment including:
- Excavators (CAT 349, 335, 330) – with or without GPS
- Dozers (D6, D5, D4) – with or without GPS
- Loading trucks
- Main line pipe installation equipment
- Perform site preparation, grading, trenching, and excavation for utility and infrastructure projects.
- Follow site plans, grade stakes, and GPS systems to ensure precision and efficiency.
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.
- Work closely with foremen and superintendents to meet project goals and timelines.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to OSHA standards.
- Assist with general labor and site tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience operating heavy equipment in civil construction.
- Proficiency in mass earthwork, grading, trenching, and utility installation.
- Experience on highway, commercial, or industrial development projects.
- OSHA 10 certification required.
- Equipment-specific certifications are a major plus.
- Ability to read and follow site plans and GPS grading systems.
- Strong safety record and commitment to job site protocols.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between Charleston and Columbia.
