Heavy Motor Equipment Operator
Under general supervision, operates one of a variety of heavy and special motor equipment of five (5) tons or over. Makes minor adjustments to equipment and when not driving, and does related work as required.
Responsibilities
- Operates a derrick truck, tractor, bulldozer, sander, plow, etc.
- Makes minor adjustments to equipment.
Minimum Entrance Qualifications
- Applicants must have at least one (1) year experience as a Heavy Motor Equipment Operator.
- Must have and maintain a valid Massachusetts commercial driver's license.
- Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job.
- Ability to operate a derrick truck, tractor, bulldozer, sander, plow, etc.
- Ability to make minor adjustments to equipment.
- Must be able to work any assigned shift in any assigned area.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and the ability to implement them while operating machinery.
- Pre-employment physical and drug tests are required.
Qualifications acquired on the job:
- Gain knowledge in operating heavy machinery such as tractors, skid steers, and backhoes specifically for park maintenance tasks.
- Ability to adjust to different park environments and varying project requirements.
