What You'll Do

• Champion Safety. Take an active role in prioritizing safety for yourself and others, in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards. Follow established traffic patterns, avoid hazardous conditions, and immediately report unsafe ones.
• Operate Mobile Equipment Loaders. Load aggregates for processing and safely load customers\' trucks with the desired specification product within legal load limits. Use a loader to strip and prep the mining site and move material toward the feeder for processing.
• Monitor Materials. Maintain an adequate feed of materials and stockpiles. Visually inspect materials for compliance with specifications.
• Perform Inspections and Maintenance. Complete thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections and daily mobile equipment reports. Observe the plant and report maintenance or adjustments needed. Clean yard and plant areas and participate in maintenance, repair, and general housekeeping.
• Monitor Processes, Materials, or Surroundings. Monitor plant operations and report any maintenance or adjustments required to ensure safety.

Qualifications

Skills You'll Need:

• Experience. 2 years of experience operating loaders and dozers in a plant environment preferred.
• Functional and Safety Knowledge. Knowledge of equipment capabilities and specifications of different finished materials. Recognize products by sight and understand proper plant operation. Knowledge of OSHA and MSHA rules and regulations. Hazard recognition skills.
• Flexibility. Ability to work overtime and extended hours as needed. Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and tolerate loud noises.
• Ready to Drive. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Interpersonal Skills. Good communication skills and ability to work in a team. Respond to inquiries promptly and follow through to address issues.
