Responsibilities include:
- Operating various types of equipment and heavy machinery
- Maintaining and repairing water and wastewater systems
- Providing information and assistance to the public
- Preparing reports
- Assisting in maintaining supplies and materials
- Supervising maintenance workers in the absence of the crew leader
- Performing maintenance support duties for department efficiency
This position may be part of the in-house pipe laying crew replacing aged water and wastewater systems. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and two years of related experience, with the ability to operate a backhoe and other heavy equipment. Preferred qualifications are one year of water and wastewater maintenance experience, knowledge of water boring equipment, pneumatic missiles, and other tools. Must have a Class A CDL Texas driver’s license and current TCEQ Class C Water and Collection II Wastewater licenses. Shifts may vary, including day, evening, or night, and standby repair duties are required. Applicants should submit their hours of availability with the application.
Pay Grade GG15 / Full Pay Range: $22.75 - $32.08 per hour
