Position Funding:
  • This is a grant funded position. There is no guarantee for future employment beyond the completion of the grant after the 2025-2026 school year.
Position Overview:

The 21st Century ACE program is a grant funded after school program designed to align with school day activities to improve academic performance, school day attendance, promote positive behavior, increase graduation and promotion rates, and provide college and career readiness. The ACE 21st Century Site Specialist will be an active participant in the campus community and leadership team.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, Human Development & Family Studies, Social Work, or related field
  • Knowledge of after school or youth programs
  • Experience in working with youth in an education, group, or camp setting
  • Experience in working with at-risk populations
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency in computer and technology skills
  • Possess a valid Texas Driver's Licence and have reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass a fingerprint based background check under TEA regulations - paid at own expense.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual ability in English and Spanish
  • Previous Supervisory experience
Program Service Delivery:
  • Manage the design, coordination and implementation of all after school center level activities.
  • Engage families through phone calls, conferences, and coordination with student support personnel to monitor attendance and program participation.
  • Design program activities that support student academic achievement.
  • Coordinate with district personnel to implement tiered literacy programming for participants with identified needs.
  • Meet contract obligations by obtaining qualified participants by prescribed deadlines.
Campus Coordination:
  • Collaborate with principal and appropriate student support staff to target ACE participants
  • Collaborate with appropriate school personnel to effectively implement ACE activities
  • Provide ACE program orientation and training for school personnel
  • Monitor and document student attendance and paperwork for each participant
  • Attend and participate in campus professional development and professional learning communities (PLCs)
  • Evaluate ACE programming effectiveness
File & Data Management:
  • Collect registration, demographic, and academic information for each identified participant and enter into the TEAL database.
  • Maintain data quality by monitoring files, maintaining proper documentation, and reviewing data for accuracy and errors.
  • Maintain files to ensure program compliance with TEA guidelines
Integrative & Administrative Services:
  • Coordinate services with program partners and providers to provide quality activities and services to meet participant needs.
  • Provide volunteer and community partner orientation regarding Harlandale ISD policies and school-based services.
  • Assess situations to determine the importance, urgency, and risks and make clear decisions which are timely and in the best interest of the program.
  • Coordinate staff management to include ensuring proper time and effort documentation for staff, conducting training and orientations, and completing staff evaluations.
  • Manage a campus team of five to ten staff members to implement proper program delivery.
