Piper Companiesis seeking a Hardware Engineerfor a world leading technology company located in the Raleigh Durham, North Carolina area.The Hardware Engineer role is hybrid working 2 days onsite in the Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina area.A successful candidate for the Hardware Engineer role will have an interest or background within security.
Responsibilities for the Hardware Engineer include:
- Design, implement, test, and support hardware and firmware-based security technologies
- Develop solutions to improve the trustworthiness of embedded systems and Cisco products
- Assist internal product teams with deploying security technologies
- Create documentation, reference code, and scripts to support adoption and verification
- Participate in architecture and design reviews, including HDL code assessments
- Investigate emerging security threats and technologies, including Post Quantum Cryptography
- Apply malware forensic analysis techniques to enhance product security features
Requirements for the Hardware Engineer include:
- B.S./M.S. in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- 1+ years of experience with FPGA design and/or verification using Verilog
- Experience with embedded CPU systems and hardware debugging in lab environments
- Strong troubleshooting skills with lab tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, evaluation boards)
- Familiarity with x86 and ARM CPUs, boot architecture, and scripting (Python, Linux shell)
- Plus:Knowledge of security design principles and Post Quantum Cryptography standards (LMS/XMSS, ML-DSA)
Compensation for the Hardware Engineer:
- $115,000 – $150,000 annually
- Full comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, and sick leave as required by law
