AWS EC2 owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS server instances. We support all AWS compute, storage, accelerator servers and ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. You’ll join a diverse team of hardware engineers, software engineers, system engineers, technical program managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. Key job responsibilities

AWS Hardware Engineering is looking for a leader to drive a team to deliver best-in-class performance of novel hardware designs from inception through manufacturing, implementation and maturation, and deprecation. You will be responsible for ensuring core system components, including CPU and memory, meet or exceed performance targets, and maintain healthy performance across the EC2 fleet. You will organize a team of hardware and system development engineers to partner with silicon suppliers, ODMs, and internal customers to maintain a high-performing component roadmap. You will define implementation strategy and report status to senior leadership. Your work will enable AWS to launch next-generation server designs.

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of engineering experience
  • 5+ years of engineering team management experience
  • 10+ years of planning, designing, developing and delivering cloud hardware with primary focus on CPU and memory
  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects and development teams in an Agile environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience partnering with silicon providers and ODMs
  • Experience designing and developing large-scale, high-performing applications

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay ranges from $157,600/year to $283,200/year. Pay is based on location and experience.
