We are seeking a highly skilled and communicative Hardware Design Engineer to lead failure analysis and corrective design efforts. This role is critical to ensuring product reliability and customer satisfaction through hands-on troubleshooting and strategic design improvements.
Responsibilities

Lead failure analysis and corrective design efforts to enhance product reliability.

Conduct hands-on troubleshooting to address product issues.

Collaborate with engineering teams to support projects that are behind schedule.

Engage in product redesign and implement corrective actions.

Provide support to teams on the manufacturing floor, focusing on obsolescence management.

Utilize 8D, FMEA, and Six Sigma methodologies in the design process.

Lead stand-up meetings with customers and suppliers to communicate findings.

Prepare and deliver presentations using PowerPoint.
Essential Skills
-
5-7 years of experience in hardware design, particularly from an automotive background .

Proficiency in failure analysis and troubleshooting.

Experience in obsolescence management and product redesign.

Familiarity with 8D, FMEA, and Six Sigma methodologies.

Strong presentation and communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

Ability to lead meetings and communicate effectively with diverse audiences.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Woodridge, Illinois.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
