Description
Apple Inc. has an opening in Austin, Texas for a Hardware Systems Engineer responsible for component datasheet analysis, schematic capture, and the layout of constrained multilayer PCBs including HDI and fine pitch BGAs. The role involves planning design timelines, making trade-offs across various engineering domains, prototype debug, and electrical characterization using advanced lab tools. The engineer will analyze factory data to optimize signal parameters, review factory test fixtures, troubleshoot manufacturing issues, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve system issues. Domestic travel of approximately 10% is required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related field, with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in circuit design for power and ethernet subsystems.
- Ability to verify power integrity across frequency and voltage ranges.
- Design and verification experience with communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, SPMI, UART.
- Failure analysis skills and experience evaluating bill of materials for cost and quality.
- Proficiency with lab equipment like oscilloscopes, DMMs, TDMs, and logic analyzers.
- Ability to generate and verify functional and test specifications.
