Responsibilities
The role participates in activities that support the design, development, and testing of electrical and electronic systems used in network equipment. It involves applying fundamental electrical engineering concepts, working with FPGA or CPLD programmable logic using HDL coding (Verilog or VHDL), and using common lab equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, meters). The team collaborates on schematic, PCB layout, and circuit-level simulation (e.g., SPICE) and engages with data communications and telecommunications protocols as part of product development and validation.
Qualifications
- Completion of at least one year of undergraduate education toward a degree in CPE, EE, or CS
- Knowledge of fundamental electrical engineering concepts, practices, and procedures
- Familiarity with FPGA or CPLD programmable logic (e.g. Altera or Xilinx) using HDL coding (Verilog or VHDL) preferred
- Familiarity with the use of common lab equipment (e.g. oscilloscopes, meters)
- Familiarity with schematic, PCB layout, and simulation tools (e.g. SPICE) preferred
- Knowledge of data communications and telecommunications protocols and concepts preferred
