Our team is working on state-of-the-art technologies for healthcare diagnostics and industrial applications. We have an opening for a talented and experienced product engineer.
An ideal candidate will be able to take a preliminary prototype of a future product (ranging from handheld medical devices to large laboratory equipment) and move through the phases of product development to bring the prototype to market. The ideal candidate will be well-rounded, using creativity and ingenuity to develop robust electromechanical systems, designed for manufacturing (incorporating cost, manufacturability, volume, material sourcing, reliability, etc.). This candidate will work independently with substantial freedom as part of a small, highly-dedicated unit. Prior experience and a portfolio of prior work is required for evaluating applicants.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Take concepts of next-generation diagnostic tools and design hardware and firmware to convert them to final products for use in clinical trials and eventual commercialization
- Develop prototypes into products that can be manufactured, considering cost, materials, sourcing, reliability etc.
- Collaborate with engineering team to finalize and select final product designs
- MS or BS with additional experience in Electrical Engineering or related areas
- Strong hardware design skills for embedded systems and familiar with the following:
- Reliable and safe power delivery for medical grade systems
- microcontrollers
- sensor integration
- digital communication between devices (wired and wireless)
- analog/mixed-signal circuit design
- Experience with PCB design software (Cadence, Altium or similar)
- Electrical lab experience (very comfortable with lab/test equipment ie. Oscilloscopes, power supplies, signal generators etc.)
- Embedded systems program experience (C, C++, python, LabView, or Verilog)
- Motivated to research new product areas as we expand, with an ability to adapt and learn new skills if required
- Familiarity with the productization and manufacturing process for new products

The expected wage range for a new hire into this position is $125,250 to $187,875.
- Actual wage offered may vary depending on work location, experience, education, training, external market data, internal pay equity, or other bona fide factors.
- This position qualifies for a discretionary performance-based bonus which is based on personal and company factors.
