Acara Solution is looking for a Senior Electrical Hardware Design Engineer for our client located in Scottsdale, AZ.

  • We seek a Senior Electrical Hardware Design Engineer (Contract Labour) to join our cross-disciplinary team responsible for designing advanced electronic hardware.
  • You will play a pivotal role in developing new 3U VPX modules that enhance the capabilities and cyber-resilience of mission-critical systems.
  • You will engage in all program phases, including requirements analysis, schematic capture, routing constraints definition, PCB/PWB routing oversight, and support for manufacturing, integration, testing, and qualification.

Job Requirements

Required Skills / Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Science or Engineering or Mathematics.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in designing PCBs/PWBs using Siemens Xpedition, VITA/VPX standards, including VITA 46 and 65, and use of lab test equipment, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other test equipment.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in designing PCBs/PWBs, including using advanced materials, packaging techniques, and high-speed interfaces (10G+ Ethernet, PCIe Gen 4+).
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other lab test equipment.

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree.
  • An understanding of the hardware development process throughout the lifecycle of a program, including design for manufacturing and design for test.
  • Knowledge of Siemens Xpedition for schematic entry, constraint definition, and analysis of signal integrity/power integrity.
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills, logically breaking down complex technical problems and finding efficient solutions.
  • Cross-disciplinary communication skills, working effectively with software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams.
  • Team collaboration, offering and receiving feedback constructively, and mentoring junior engineers when needed.
