Overview
Senior Hardware Test Engineer role based in Seattle, WA. You will own the development and execution of test strategies for wireless payloads, validate reliability, performance, and longevity of satellite hardware, and ensure readiness from design validation to flight readiness in harsh space environments.
Base pay range: $145,000.00/yr - $185,000.00/yr.
Responsibilities
- Build and execute rigorous test protocols for RF and mixed-signal hardware.
- Analyze test data to identify failure modes, drive root-cause investigations, and feed improvements back into design.
- Develop methods to optimize system resilience under space conditions.
- Lead continuous improvement in test methodology, automation, and best practices.
- Provide technical mentorship and help raise the bar for test engineering at the company.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams — hardware, software, and mechanical — to ensure reliability from initial design through manufacturing and in-orbit operation.
- Support full lifecycle work from design validation to flight readiness.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in hardware validation, test engineering, or RF systems testing.
- Experience in design, testing, and debugging RF PCBAs; understanding electronics reliability and failure mechanisms.
- Experience with RF test equipment (oscilloscopes, VNAs, Spectrum Analyzers, signal generators) and RF product analysis procedures.
- Strong programming skills in Python and C/C++ for data analysis and test automation.
- Experience with root cause failure analysis and corrective actions focusing on RF systems.
- Understanding of metrology, measurement error sources, and uncertainty analysis.
- Experience with environmental testing (thermal, vibration, TVAC).
- Ability to work independently and in cross-functional roles; strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication.
- Willingness to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
- Passion for creating state-of-the-art hardware systems.
Strongly Desired
- 5+ years in reliability engineering, testing, or quality assurance, preferably in aerospace or satellite industries.
- Experience in high-volume manufacturing, assembling and testing electronic components.
- Experience analyzing radiation impact on components and mitigation strategies.
