What does a Recruiter do?

  • Effectively communicates the company culture, opportunities and advantages of working for Turning Stone Enterprises during interviews, tours, on-site and external recruiting events.
  • Manages the candidate journey from end to end including initial screens, interview scheduling, extending/negotiating offers, pre-employment processing, and other steps as needed in the hiring process.
  • Uses progressive search and sourcing strategies through social media, job boards, organized hiring events, cold calling, and professional networking.
  • Partners with the hiring manager to review job description requirements and implement an effective interviewing and selection process that assesses candidates against job qualifications and involves all necessary departments.
  • Coaches hiring managers on interviewing, selection and the hiring process. Provides interview questions and completes reference checks as required.
  • Uses the applicant tracking system in accordance with established SLAs, data standards, processes and procedures. Tracks and analyzes screens, interviews, candidate fall-out, and hires; provides updates to the Talent Acquisition Manager.
  • Communicates with hiring managers, organizes introductory meetings for new searches, and leads regular recruiting update meetings. Works with department leadership and understands wage rates and headcount challenges.
  • Cultivates internal talent by following internal posting processes and assessing applications for current team members.
  • Demonstrates familiarity with compensation and benefits programs and communicates them to candidates. Partners with the People Operations team on offers.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of Turning Stone Enterprises Gaming Commission and New York State Gaming Commission licensing requirements and processes; communicates licensing requirements to candidates and assists licensing with candidate processing when required. Schedules pre-employment processing and new hire orientation; collaborates with People Development on orientation.
  • Participates in departmental events and projects as needed.

To be successful as a Recruiter, you'll need:

  • A naturally playful spirit
  • A desire to serve with outstanding guest service skills
  • A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in Human Resources or related discipline
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships
  • 1 or more years of recruitment experience preferred
  • Experience in a high-volume, fast-paced recruiting environment with multitasking and prioritization is a plus
  • 1 year of experience using an applicant tracking system and generating recruiting reports preferred
  • Experience building end-to-end, progressive recruiting strategies using various sources preferred
  • Proficient use of social media to develop networks and source candidates
  • Experience designing and executing candidate screening, interviewing, evaluation and selection; strong evaluation, assessment and decision-making skills
  • Ability to consult with hiring managers on staffing needs and decisions
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
