In this exempt position, the Staff Recruiter "Recruiter" will manage the full scope of recruitment for professional staff positions across multiple departments, including Accounting and Finance, Attorney Development, Attorney Recruitment, Business Development, Conflicts, Human Resources, Information Technology, Inclusion and Engagement, and Legal Administration. This role requires strong sourcing skills, the ability to build and maintain relationships with candidates and hiring managers, and ownership of the onboarding process to ensure a seamless transition into the firm.

Essential Duties

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment for professional staff positions, from requisition approval to offer acceptance.

  • Partner with hiring managers to define position requirements, develop job descriptions, and establish recruitment strategies.

  • Source qualified candidates through a variety of methods, including direct sourcing, cold calling, database mining, networking, and social media platforms.

  • Conduct thorough candidate screening, evaluate qualifications, and present shortlists to hiring managers.

  • Coordinate and schedule interviews, gather feedback, and manage communication between candidates and hiring managers.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date recruitment data in the applicant tracking system (ATS), ensuring all candidate activity, communications, and status changes are documented in real time.

  • Prepare and deliver regular recruitment metrics and pipeline reports to the HR leadership team, including time-to-fill, source effectiveness, and candidate quality indicators.

  • Provide hiring managers with weekly status updates, highlighting active candidates, sourcing progress, and any challenges impacting the search.

  • Analyze hiring trends and make recommendations for improving sourcing strategies, reducing time-to-fill, and enhancing candidate quality.

  • Ensure reports are prepared in alignment with firm policies and deadlines, maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with applicable employment laws.

  • Negotiate offers and manage the offer process in alignment with firm policies and market competitiveness.

  • Own and facilitate the onboarding process, ensuring a smooth transition for new hires into the firm.

  • Compile onboarding and transition metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of new hire integration and retention within the first year.

  • Maintain an active pipeline of qualified candidates for recurring and hard-to-fill positions.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with hiring managers, understanding department needs and fostering trust as a recruitment partner.

  • Leverage data and market intelligence to advise on competitive compensation, hiring trends, and sourcing strategies.

  • Ensure recruitment practices are consistent with firm values, inclusion and engagement goals, and applicable employment laws.

  • Represent the firm at recruiting and networking events as needed.

The Staff Recruiter reports directly to Senior Manager of Human Resources.

Qualifications

Knowledge/Experience:

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in full life cycle recruitment, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.

Skills:

  • Proven success sourcing passive candidates through direct outreach, networking, and cold calling.

  • Strong relationship management skills with the ability to influence and partner with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple searches simultaneously with strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Experience using applicant tracking systems (preferably Workday), and recruitment-related technologies, including LinkedIn Recruiting.

  • Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and exceptional candidate and client experience.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

Physical Demands

This position operates computers and other office productivity machines (e.g., fax machine, copier, printer, etc.) on a regular basis. Occasionally required to move documents or files weighing up to 15 lbs. This position requires constant communication and exchange of information with the Firm attorneys, clients and staff. This position must be able to inspect and observe information on a computer screen at least 80% of the time.

Working Conditions

Office Environment. Some overtime may be required. Some travel may be needed.
