Overview
The Recruiter anticipates and meets the evolving staffing needs of all departments by developing and implementing strategic recruitment methods to recruit diverse talent for the assigned Value-Added Plant (VAP).
Major Responsibilities and Tasks
- Manages full-cycle recruiting process to meet staffing goals across all departments within the assigned facility. Creates and implements strategies to attract passive job seekers and to tap into new talent pools to proactively anticipate staffing demands.
- Partners with HR and management to track and report key metrics to forecast and develop plans for key staffing initiatives. Leverages recruitment data in partnership with HR leadership to increase recruiting efficiency.
- Partners with hiring managers and interview teams to ensure job requirements and expectations are clearly understood and candidates are assessed against appropriate criteria.
- Creates and documents quality interview processes that ensure hiring managers and interview teams are using best-practice behavioral and situational questions to uncover evidence of skills, fit, track record, and motivators – all required to predict success.
- Manages job advertisements on various internal and external online and community platforms and maintains compliance with company messaging and branding.
- Adheres to all federal, state, and local regulations governing the employment process; keeps applicant files in good order for applicant tracking purposes.
- Reviews and evaluates candidates’ work history, education, training, and other qualifications against role and hiring manager requirements.
- Partners with and develops strong relationships with all hiring managers, department leaders, and HR team to maximize effectiveness of recruiting and onboarding processes.
- Ensures timely follow-up communication with hiring managers and candidates to maintain satisfaction with the recruitment process.
- Completes compliant Form I-9 and E-Verify checks for all new hires. Coordinates and ensures completion of all new hire paperwork and distributes documents required by state and federal laws.
- Conducts new hire orientation and regular check-ins (orientation follow-up, week 1, and 90-day) to support onboarding and retention.
- Assists with monthly and annual training for hourly employees and participates in other HR-related duties, including employee relations and cross-functional projects, as assigned.
Job-Specific Competencies
- 3+ years of Staffing/Recruitment experience. HR Generalist experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of recruiting across all levels from entry level to corporate staff.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong focus on customer service.
- Clear understanding of end-to-end recruitment lifecycle processes.
- Experience mapping and sourcing resumes from all sources for skilled and unskilled labor roles.
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and data mining/internet research.
- Knowledge of human resources policies, practices, and programs with the ability to communicate them to candidates and hiring managers.
- Working knowledge of Federal and state labor laws and ability to understand company policies and procedures.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills; ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Bilingual / Biliterate in English / Spanish preferred.
Physical Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift up to 15 lbs.
Work Hour & Travel Requirements
- Ability to work beyond regular business hours, weekends, as needed.
Experience & Education
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or relevant work experience
Pay Rate
- $65,000 - $68,000 Annually
