Overview

Coordinates all efforts to recruit prospective students to Portland Bible College and administers the admissions process for all applicants.

Plans and coordinates strategies and activities that optimize enrollments by attracting new students to the College. This is accomplished by providing essential information about the College as it relates to admissions and enrollment; making vital information available to the community through presentations to churches, high schools, youth groups, conferences and fairs; working collaboratively with college faculty, staff, and current students to attract new students; fostering awareness, promotion, and support of a culture of higher education through outreach; planning, coordinating and providing administrative oversight for recruitment and outreach activities. This also involves communicating with pastors, parents, high school officials and prospective students. Deploys the above strategies with a high level of care for the students, prayerfully considering their God-given gifts and calling, and helping them determine fitness for Bible College enrollment.

One-on-one recruitment counseling to diverse populations is an important responsibility of this position. This occurs primarily by in-person appointments, phone calls, texts, and emails. This also includes planning and hosting all campus visits and coordinating relevant communication between appropriate college staff and prospective students regarding program specifics and transfer standing.

Position Details

  • Hours: Full Time / 40 hours per week

  • Reports to the VP of Advancement
  • Supervises Student Ambassador Team

Responsibilities

  • Schedules and executes strategic visits to high schools, churches, youth groups, camps and conferences.
  • Builds and manages an active list of prospects from various marketing channels.
  • Schedules and hosts visitors and weekly campus tours.
  • Assigns recruitment team ambassadors to prospective leads.
  • Trains ambassador team members and keeps them accountable to their tasks.
  • Provides essential information about PBC as it relates to admissions and enrollment for all communication channels – emails, social media, brochures, etc.
  • Builds processes for online and in-person prospects/leads – building ongoing relationship with leads.
  • Provides support for recruitment into non-traditional programs like Prime and Affiliates.
  • Manages admissions website pages and online forms that gather information.
  • Manages the admissions section of the student information database - Populi.
  • Builds and manages support systems to perform critical duties.
  • Processes all applications for all programs (online, in person, and international).
  • Guides students from their initial application through to their enrollment and onboarding in PBC both in person and online.
  • Collaborates in the creation of promotional tools.
  • Maintains student files in collaboration with Registrar and VP of Student Success.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 4-year Bible College Degree required (PBC graduate strongly preferred).
  • Familiar with software technologies; including databases, word processors, presentations, and spreadsheets.
  • Knowledge of communication technology including html emails and social media platforms.
  • Good organizational skills, ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • This position requires the ability to travel, transport, set up and tear down recruitment materials, displays and other equipment.
  • Strong cross-cultural interpersonal and writing skills are necessary, including public speaking skills and the ability to present the college in a positive way to diverse populations.
  • High degree of relational intelligence and sensitivity to be able to relate effectively to pastors, educators, parents and youth required.
  • Ability to work under pressure and be flexible with hours.
  • Some evening and weekend hours required.
  • Ability to gather, train and oversee volunteers.
  • Must embrace the ministry philosophy of PBC and Mannahouse.
  • Must be a member in good standing of Mannahouse, Global Network church, or Minister’s Fellowship International (MFI); including consistent attendance, ministry participation, and tithing.
