Overview
Seeking a detail-oriented part-time generalist to provide essential support across all facets of our HR operations. In this role, you will be a point of contact for employees, managing everything from payroll and benefits to onboarding and HR systems. The position is 30 hours/week with flexible scheduling; additional hours may be needed based on business needs.Reporting to the Human Resources Director, the HR Generalist performs a variety of generalist support activities in all HR areas, but is primarily responsible for payroll and HR activities.
Responsibilities
- HR Generalist Support: provide HR support as a point of contact regarding benefits, policies and procedures, leaves of absence, and other HR-related questions.
- Act as the primary liaison between associates and other HR centers of excellence to provide a high level of service.
- Provide additional support for employee events as needed, including monthly team meetings.
- Ensure excellent customer service regarding HRIS, health benefits, 401k, and payroll.
- Support and manage various HR projects as required.
- Conduct internal audits and manage sensitive documentation securely.
- Payroll/HRIS: process payroll accurately and on schedule for all employees, manage hourly and salary payroll, timecard approvals, and changes; pre-check payroll reports and final approvals; handle out-of-cycle pay and terminations; collaborate with PR North American payroll team to improve processes; set up new employees in HRIS and manage terminations; maintain accurate employee records; ensure legal compliance and timely document destruction; automate repetitive tasks and build processes.
- Reporting: manage annual social reporting for PRW USA employees; payroll, headcount, starters, terminations reporting; monthly regional reporting (PTO, KPIs); participate in compensation surveys; ensure accuracy and timeliness of HR reporting; contribute to internal and external reports; handle ad hoc reporting.
- Digital Engagement: manage HR tech platforms to boost employee connection; monitor usage and engagement; administer systems such as WorkDay, KRONOS, Active Directory, PDK, MyPortal; back-end management of KRONOS and WorkDay requests to the support team.
- Recruitment & Onboarding: support full employment lifecycle from onboarding to off-boarding, including employee orientation; facilitate onboarding and new hire orientation; prepare job descriptions with hiring managers and conduct compensation analysis; manage job postings and recruitment cycle (screening, interviewing, evaluating candidates); oversee seasonal and part-time recruitment for Harvest roles from planning to offboarding.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- 2-3 years of professional-level HR experience
- Knowledge of California employment, wage and hours laws
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with high proficiency in Excel
- Ability to work autonomously, take initiative, and show accountability
- Strong prioritization, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong data entry, analytics, and reporting capabilities
- Ability to perform work in a systematic and accurate manner
- Strong sense of urgency and problem-solving skills
- Desirable: experience in an operational environment
- Spanish language skills
- Previous payroll experience
- Experience in a global organization
Special Conditions
- Some out-of-hours work may be required
- Travel to Pernod Ricard Winemakers USA sites
- Current driver’s license
- Work is performed in a typical office environment with limited physical demands
Pay Transparency
The base pay scale offered for this position is $30-$35 per hour. This range reflects our reasonable expectations but actual compensation will depend on factors such as qualifications, skills, experience, location, and market alignment. The company reserves the right to modify the range in the future.
