Position Summary
EIF seeks a dynamic HR Generalist to spearhead our HR function in this newly created role. As we enter a phase of growth, this position provides strategic direction for attracting, developing, and retaining talent, ensuring legal compliance, and championing EIF’s mission and vision. This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of EIF and impact the lives of students.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of HR policies, programs, and initiatives aligned with EIF's strategic goals and objectives.
- Provide guidance to senior leadership on organizational design, workforce planning, and change management.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, regulations, and best practices; mitigate HR-related risks and liabilities.
- Foster a culture of equal access, fairness, and broad participation; promote a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Manage day-to-day HR tasks including drafting and editing documents, coordinating background checks, updating HR databases, and responding to employee inquiries.
- Oversee HR operations such as onboarding and addressing employee questions, ensuring policy compliance.

Physical Demands
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods.
- Capability to enter data and read computer screens and printed materials with or without vision aids.
- Proficiency in hearing and comprehending speech in various environments; clear audible communication.
- Occasional work in noisy and crowded environments with interruptions.
- Occasional campus visits around DFW required.

- $75,000 starting salary and commensurate with experience
Terms of Employment & Evaluation
- Exempt - Salaried
- At-will employment
- Performance evaluations conducted per EIF policy
- Must agree to take relevant credential courses as requested by the CEO
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s preferred.
- Minimum of two years of progressive HR management experience; success in HR roles.
- Strong preference for SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or similar certification.
- Proven track record of driving organizational change and implementing HR initiatives aligned with strategic objectives; commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Experience in nonprofit, education, or with underserved communities is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of Texas employment law and regulations; ability to ensure HR compliance.
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred.
