Our client is looking for an experienced HR Generalist to join their team in Pittsfield, Maine. A Day in the Life of the HR Generalist
In this role, you’ll be the go-to person for HR operations, managing everything from onboarding and payroll to I-9s and job postings. You’ll help streamline processes and keep compliance tight, all while making a direct impact on employee experience and organizational growth. This position supports leadership while helping the company continue its mission of advocacy and compassion.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing onboarding and offboarding processes
- Posting jobs and tracking applicants
- Completing I-9s, W-2s, and compliance paperwork
- Supporting some billing functions
- Handling general HR documentation and audits
- Keeping all HR processes timely, organized, and compliant
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Strong HR and administrative background
- 2+ years in an HR support or generalist role
- Knowledge of payroll processes and HR compliance
- Experience with employee documentation, managing payroll, onboarding, compliance, benefits, etc.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
- Comfortable being a solo HR lead (collaborates closely with leadership team)
- Ability to work in-office in Pittsfield, ME, with potential for hybrid/remote flexibility nearby
