Overview
HR Partner role at Ryder System, Inc. This is an HR generalist role that is both tactical and strategic, focused on maximizing employee engagement and development. These onsite roles are located in larger warehouse locations and/or high density geographical areas. They are high-touch and customer focused and require the onsite HR generalist to partner heavily with operations to support our employees. This Onsite HR partner handles employee relations, performance management, talent management, succession planning, employee engagement, and legislative compliance. They are business partners to the warehouse management teams in all areas of the employee life cycle. Bilingual (Spanish) is a MUST. This role is for 2nd Shift 11am-8pm.
Essential Functions
- Works closely with HRBP on executing/implementing HR strategy for the location with a focus on employee engagement and retention. Supports managers with tools and training to optimize performance.
- Provides HR support to location leadership on day-to-day issues and larger initiatives, including training, coaching and development topics.
- Acts as intermediary with HRES/Employee Relations and location management on recommendations and guidance regarding HR matters; submits tickets into MyRyder when needed.
- Supports managers on hiring, termination and other employee data changes; enters data into Workday/MyRyder; ensures effective onboarding and training for new employees.
- Conducts proactive employee relations through pulse surveys, 1:1s, etc.; leads employee relations activities, including coaching and support during investigations; collaborates with Business Agents to resolve grievances and local matters as applicable.
- Utilizes analytics and workforce trends to influence decisions and improve organizational processes and programs; tracks trends and provides analysis for improvement.
- Supports Labor Relations on priorities for successful union negotiations; contributes key HR data to ensure successful outcomes within the collective bargaining agreement; partners with Labor Relations to implement labor strategy and conduct risk assessments and trainings.
- Communicates, interprets and applies policies consistently; ensures compliance with HR processes and audits; consults with HRES/Compliance on policy interpretation.
- Works with operations to identify and implement solutions to improve employee retention.
- Collaborates with Recruiting to fill roles in a timely manner; supports staffing planning based on growth, workforce planning and analytics.
- Coordinates development programs such as FLP and LMT.
- Collaborates with HRES/Compliance on ensuring legislative compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including location-level compliance reviews (e.g., wage & hour).
Additional Responsibilities
- Champions HR technology adoption at the location (Workday/MyRyder).
- Works with agency partners when needed.
- Runs hiring events and partners with local schools when needed.
- Supports a diverse and inclusive workplace.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with HR concentration or related field, or 4+ years of relevant experience.
- 2+ years in employee relations or a similar HR function.
- 2+ years in HR generalist or similar functions.

Compensation And Benefits
The compensation offered may be influenced by factors including experience, education, location, market data/ranges, and internal equity. The position may be eligible for an annual bonus, commission, and/or long-term incentive plan depending on level/type. Pay type: Salaried. Minimum Pay Range: $70,000. Maximum Pay Range: $75,000.
