The Human Resource (HR) Generalist supports the HR team in activities related to benefits, talent acquisition, employee relations, onboarding, and off-boarding processes for new hires, promotions, and transfers. The HR Generalist should provide excellent service to TRG members and take a proactive approach. Basic knowledge of federal and state employment laws and compliance is required. We are seeking an HR Generalist for our Lakeland facility.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and implement HR objectives and programs in staffing, compensation, performance, retention, and training.
- Build productive relationships with employees, peers, and partners.
- Assist with benefits enrollment and communicate benefits information.
- Support recruitment efforts, including job postings and working with hiring managers.
- Facilitate onboarding and off-boarding processes, including administrative tasks.
- Complete background checks, employment verifications, and I-9 tracking.
- Ensure compliance with mandatory training and document accordingly.
- Handle employment inquiries and provide guidance on policies and procedures.
- Maintain HRIS records and compile reports.
- Keep employee data updated, including birthdays and anniversaries.
- Stay informed on HR trends and recommend improvements.
- Interpret collective bargaining agreements and maintain positive union relations.
- Participate in disciplinary meetings, investigations, and terminations.
- Maintain regular attendance and perform other duties as assigned.
Preferred Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field.
- 1-2 years HR experience or equivalent education and experience.
- Proficient in MS Office, with advanced HRIS skills.
Preferred Skills:
- PHR or SHRM certification preferred.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Maintain confidentiality and act with professionalism.
- Strong communication, decision-making, and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
Work Environment:
- Primarily office environment; occasional warehouse exposure.
- Requires sitting, standing, walking, and extensive online work.
- Specific vision abilities required.
Other Information:
- Full-time, Monday-Friday, with possible outside hours.
