The HR Generalist will play an integral role in supporting the daily functions of the Human Resources team, including employee relations, enforcing company policies and practices, employment law, benefits and reporting, and fielding employee questions. A successful candidate will be able to build strong relationships, multi-task, demonstrate excellent communication, organizational skills and strong desire to drive results.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a point of contact for employee questions and concerns regarding policies, benefits and workplace matters
  • Collaborate with insurance providers and serve as a point of contact for employees seeking information about their benefits
  • Support the administration of the 401k plan, including employee enrollments and compliance reporting
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners to support the annual performance review process and employee development programs by managing the implementation and documentation in HRIS
  • Prepare required benefit-related reporting, including EEO, Form 5500, non-discrimination and ACA testing; ensuring compliance with federal regulations
  • Monitors changes in employment law and assists in ensuring compliance with current policies; maintain and update the employee handbook accordingly
  • Assist the HR Business Partners with the tracking, document, and maintain workplace incidents; ensure timely and accurate reporting in accordance with OSHA regulations
  • Manage the leave of absence process and accommodation requests
  • Respond to unemployment claims by coordinating and supporting documentation and communicating to state agancies
  • Basic knowledge of payroll processes; understands payroll policies, wage and hour laws, and supports compliance with applicable regulations
  • Ensure compliance with the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) regulations by performing regular screenings, reviewing results and maintaining accurate records
  • Assist in maintaining and updating employees’ information in the Human Resources System and Personnel File
  • Perform regular audits to ensure all required documentation is organized and retained according to document retention guidelines, as well as assist with general HR audit requests as necessary
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant employment laws
  • Generating HR reports as requested
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and recommend best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance
  • Assist in additional HR projects as it relates to the HR function

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of work experience in an HR role, preferably as a generalist or an HR Coordinator, Benefits Coordinator, or relevant position
  • Bachelor's degree in a Human Resources-related area, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Desire and ability to prioritize and complete projects within set deadlines; thrives within an accountability driven culture and a strong desire to drive results
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws, regulations and best practices.
  • Strong analytical skills demonstrated in an HR capacity
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS systems
  • Skilled in MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and respectfully across diverse audiences and teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Desire to work as a team with a result driven approach
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times, both internally and externally
