Responsibilities
Alan B. Miller Medical Center opening in Spring 2026! A neighborhood hospital with medical center excellence. The new state-of-the-art hospital will join UHS’ growing regional network of healthcare operations and will feature 150 private patient rooms, a medical office building and a helistop. Upon completion of the initial phase, the campus will include 365,000 square feet of hospital and medical office space. The Medical Center will offer comprehensive services including Emergency Care, Orthopedics and Surgical Services, Labor and Delivery, Neonatal Intensive Care, Oncology, Cardiovascular and Neurosurgical services, and outpatient services in medical office buildings.
We are seeking an experienced HR Consultant to provide temporary support as we prepare for the opening of our new hospital.
- Work with HR team on facility leadership recruitment, conduct interviews and present viable candidates to the CEO for consideration; provide guidance for appropriate rates offered to candidates.
- Assist with recruiting and hiring for HR positions.
- Update model policies for the facility to store in Policy Tech.
- Modify job descriptions for positions.
- Work with Division Director on cataloguing pay grades/structure.
- Develop pay policies for UKG (aligning with Wellington).
- Update new hire orientation program template and new hire packet tailored to the hospital.

Qualifications
Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or Health Care related field from an accredited college or university required.
- 5 years of progressively responsible experience in a Human Resources senior or lead role required. Prior experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Prior experience with HR standards and guidelines for Joint Commission, Wage & Hour, ADA, FMLA, Employment Laws, Civil Rights, and HR policies and procedures.
- Strong HR generalist skills, including recruitment, compensation, employee relations, and employment law. HR knowledge of leaves of absence, FMLA, and workers' compensation strongly preferred.
- HRIS experience required; Applicant Tracking systems experience desired.
- Strong prioritization, problem solving, organizational and leadership skills.
- Responsive in addressing issues and completing projects requiring timely management/oversight.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, performance management and analytical abilities.
- Ability to multi-task with accuracy and attention to detail; clear and concise written and oral communication.
- Strong customer relations and complaint resolution skills; ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Computer proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), email, spreadsheets, database entry and general office equipment.
