HR Generalist at Oldcastle APG

This role serves as a liaison between management and employees, aligning people with business requirements for skillsets and behaviors.

Overview

The HR Generalist partners with local management, regional staff and corporate staff to administer and execute policies relating to Human Resources including payroll practices and employee benefit programs. This position is located on site at our manufacturing plant in Sauget, IL.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with employees and management to communicate Human Resources and Payroll policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations.
  • Supports talent management review and succession planning processes, aligning business needs with employee strengths and addressing gaps through training or repositioning.
  • Assess organizational strengths and recommend improvements, including adjusting organizational structure to best serve the business.
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting HR functions; uphold policies, procedures and reporting.
  • Play a key role in onboarding new personnel, including recruiting, interviewing, background checks, employment references and drug screenings.
  • Administer employee benefits, retirement, insurance and employee assistance programs.
  • Coordinate annual business meetings as needed.
  • Review and update processes, content or procedures to align with business needs and Oldcastle policies.
  • Other duties as assigned on a temporary or permanent basis.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor\'s degree in Human Resources or equivalent business management track.
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred.
  • PHR or SPHR preferred.
  • 3+ years\' experience in Human Resources Management.
  • Excellent interpersonal, intercultural and communication skills, in-person and written.
  • Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, employees and the public as needed.
  • Ability to coach employees and management through complex situations.
  • Strong data research and analytical skills.
  • Ability to properly manage confidential information.
  • Travel up to 50% of the time.

Job Compensation

  • Base salary will range between $60,000-$70,000
  • Two weeks of vacation per year
  • Sick leave and benefits in accordance with state law
