HR Generalist

Location: Dunkirk, NY (On-Site)

Pay: $55,000 - $65,000 annually

Full-Time | On-Site | Manufacturing Environment

Position Summary

The HR Generalist supports all aspects of the employee lifecycle within a dynamic steel manufacturing environment. This role ensures compliance with labor laws, fosters strong employee relations, and partners with leadership to promote a safe, productive, and engaged workforce. Serving as a trusted resource for both hourly plant employees and salaried staff, the HR Generalist drives consistency and alignment with company policies and culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (equivalent experience considered).
• 2+ years of HR experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HR best practices, labor law, and compliance.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced, production-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage recruitment and onboarding for hourly, technical, and professional roles.
• Serve as a first point of contact for employee relations issues, addressing concerns promptly and confidentially.
• Maintain HRIS records, personnel files, and compliance documentation.
• Administer benefits, leave programs, and payroll support in coordination with Finance.
• Partner with Safety and Environmental teams to ensure OSHA and company policy compliance.
• Support performance management, training initiatives, and employee engagement programs.
• Monitor compliance with labor laws, workplace regulations, and company standards.
