Overview
HR Generalist role at Pregis. The HR Generalist provides on-site, hands-on human resources support to the manufacturing plant, handling day-to-day administration of HR policies, programs, and procedures for plant personnel including recruitment, onboarding, benefits, compensation, employee relations, training, and talent development.
Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Plant Manager, HR Talent Acquisition team, and temporary agencies to deliver effective recruitment and retention strategies and identify future staffing needs.
- Facilitate new hire orientation and onboarding processes.
- Drive a positive company culture with employee engagement initiatives.
- Provide HR policy and procedure guidance to employees and management.
- Coordinate open enrollments, changes, and training for employee benefits programs.
- Respond to HR-related inquiries and employee relations issues; conduct investigations when necessary.
- Support payroll-related processes.
- Create and distribute internal communications regarding status changes, benefits, or company policies.
- Deliver and manage talent management processes including progressive discipline.
- Promote safety initiatives to support a safe work environment.
- Conduct exit interviews and promote continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications and Skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of the human resources field.
- Understanding of state and federal employment regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proactive approach with ownership and follow-through.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Education and Experience
- Bachelors degree in human resources, business administration, or related field (preferred).
- 3-5 years of human resources generalist experience.
- Recruiting experience required.
- Bilingual English/Spanish required.
- Manufacturing industry experience preferred.
- Experience with HRIS systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook); strong to intermediate skills.
- PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
